2:03pm EDT // Hello everyone, this is my first post to the Melos Blog. Our intention is to use this site as a way to make our music available and keep interested parties updated on the various projects that we’re each working on as well as our achievements.
A little background information, I just finished my undergraduate study at San Jose State University and was awarded outstanding graduating senior. I left the program with two degrees, A B.M in Composition and a B.A. in Music Technology, as well as a minor in Film. I also worked on two films as Music Supervisor, one of which was an animated musical comedy for which I composed the score and collaborated with Mark DeSimone on arrangements for the musical numbers and recording the musicians.
Over the summer, I’ve been in the process of making revisions to a few of my recent works which will soon be available on the site. Besides working on my piano chops and studying for entrance exams, I’ve also started my second work for solo voice and piano, a 6 song cycle, setting texts of Percy Bysshe Shelley on common themes. I was also recently offered a part-time instructor teaching assistantship at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where I will be pursuing graduate study in composition and conducting, as well as teaching two music theory courses.
I hope that you find our site and catalogue to be of interest, we are invested in working with performers and conductors, so please don’t be shy if you’re considering performing a piece or acquiring a perusal score!
